The Galaxy A50 is the “top-dog” of the mid-ranger pack, it is still quite interesting to take a closer look at its design and layout. Enter a pair of official-looking back and front renders of the phone.
The under-display fingerprint reader has a feature that only the A50 is said to sport, within the A-series family. Although rumours have hinted at a Galaxy A70 and even A90 on the Samsung roadmap.
The specifications include a 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution on that extra-tall, 19.5:9, Super AMOLED panel, complete with what Samsung has dubbed an “Infinity-U” notch. The 25MP selfie camera nuzzled in it is said to be an f/2.0 fixed-focus unit. Breaking down that triple camera setup on the back, we have a 25MP, f/1.7 autofocus main snapper, an 8MP, f/2.4 fixed-focus ultra-wide and a 5MP, f/2.2 fixed-focus depth sensor.
The Galaxy A50 will have Exynos 9610 with an octa-core CPU, going as fast as 2.3 GHz. Memory options are 4/64 GB and 6/128 GB, and there is a microSD slot for up to 512GB extra storage. The phone will have a 3D Glossy Plastic back in three colors – Black, White, Blue. And that final Z-axis dimension, missing from the sketch is 7.7mm.
A hefty 4,000 mAh battery will be keeping the lights on. Samsung appears to be sticking to its tried and true 15W Adaptive Fast charging standard, via a Type-C port.
